Mr.Trump and others can follow up on my idea of fixing illegal immigration problem effectively and compassionately, while being a grand hero everywhere, including in Mexico.
And, leaders who follow through on my idea can give me a top position in any administration for suggesting something creative, unique and humane. The intelligent approach to solving the illegal immigrant problem, and illegal border crossing, is to help people leave voluntarily...but also joyfully.
Give all immigrants a million dollars to leave!
Eleven million illegal immigrants...eleven million dollars.
Eleven million dollars is not a lot of money for a country with trillions of dollars in GDP or GNP. Even if a few millionaires and billionaires contribute 20 million dollars to solve this problem it can be effectively solved. (Twenty million dollars is less than what some Presidential candidates spent for the
Primaries on a single State in the 2016 race for the White House).
In my idea an illegal immigrant family of four will receive four million dollars. Banks will be set up in Mexico and other Latin American countries to receive these returning immigrants' money. They will also help them invest, spend wisely and save shrewdly.
Yep...eleven million illegal immigrants, eleven million dollars as an incentive for them to return to their home countries.
This solution is smart, cost effective, compassionate and doable.
Most illegal immigrants are in the US for economic reasons. They are fleeing poverty, desperation and injustice. If they could go back to their home countries with lots of money, and stay to invest and improve their own home countries' economy and society they would do it!
Most illegal immigrants would go back to their home country happily, and with hope, if they had a million dollars to take with them. Heck...even many legal immigrants would do that.
Of course, there might be a few illegal immigrants who may prefer to stay in spite of being offered a million dollars to leave. And some not-so-ethical migrants might take the money and try to stay back, or sneak in again. The latter can be firmly dealt with by people like "the Donald". Some legal immigrants might also want an incentive like this to leave. My idea if fair, helpful, compassionate and doable. Few compassionate millionaires and billionaires can also help make this happen with their contributions. This idea does not require a lot of infrastructure or too many agencies to solve. It can be done with few people, who are smart, efficient and ethical, with appropriate follow through. The whole problem can be solved in less than five years with sensible coordination, and efficient management. Illegal immigrants are in the US for economic survival...so give them an attractive amount of money as an incentive to leave. The amount, eleven million dollars to repatriate eleven million illegal immigrants, is very modest for an economy like the US. This is a compassionate and a doable idea.
